The SolarEdge monitoring app has stopped displaying any data for 2023. Our installer says that SolarEdge has decommissioned the 3G cellular service and we will need to pay $500 for them to order the 4G cellular module because SolarEdge warranty won’t cover it.
When we bought the system, it was our understanding that the warranty is for the whole system and now they’re splitting the necessary component to communicate back to their servers for monitoring and software updates. Cellular technologies keep changing so it looks like customers will be on the hook every time the manufacturer discontinues any component.
Is this going to be normal going forward?
